ProWall Case Study – Bridlington Leisure World

Bridlington Leisure prowall Rainscreen cladding Prowall Situated on the northwest coast of England, metres from the North Sea, the 22-million-pound redevelopment of Bridlington Leisure World showcases the diversity and resilience of SAS (Europe) Ltd’s ProWall Rainscreen cladding.

the benefits of Rainscreen cladding

This construction, that uses steel frame to create sweeping curves to a staggered façade, created a challenge we knew ProWall would excel at conquering. With the ability to bend to a radius of 1.5m; ProBoard allowed the design team to release the potential of this ambitiously styled façade.

SAS EUROPE’s project support

We had meetings with the architects at East Riding Council to work out some thought-provoking and difficult details around beading and movement provision. Once these were overcome, SAS (Europe) Ltd’s technical team made a further 12 site visits to ensure this prestigious development went swimmingly.

BENEFITS OF THE PROWALL SYSTEM

The ProWall system uses a flexible ProBoard render carrier board fixed to timber battens over breather membrane, backing board and insulated steel frame. ProRend Lite was used as a lightweight basecoat incorporating ProMesh Grade 3 reinforcement mesh. The ProWall system was finished with the flexible, silicone resin based ProRend Colourtex decorative render to create a low maintenance and durable finish. Contrasting against the black brickwork, the ProRend Colourtex decorative finish flows with the construction’s organic lines influenced by the ripples and swells of the nearby ocean. The result is a modern leisure centre to rival all others.
