Cornerstone Housing Limited offers affordable,

Their refurbishment project at Beacon Avenue, Exeter modernises a tranche of their existing housing stock, improves the homes’ thermal properties and improves their tenants’ living environment, delivering a positive drive towards Cornerstone’s lower carbon footprint initiative. SAS was involved with the project from the design stage to completion, including a CPD presentation with representatives of Cornerstone and Heighway Field Associates responsible for the project design. The Cornerstone in house trade team (direct labour force) carried out the works.
The SAS technical team worked closely with Heighway Feild Architects during the specification process providing U value calculations for optimal thermal performance.
This close collaboration ensured a fire compliant system on the façades was achieved with great success.
This extensive refurbishment scheme, undertaken in six construction phases, included a complete installation of our Mineral Wool ProRend EIFS, BBA Certified Insulation System to blocks of terraced houses.
Our close communication with Cornerstone ensured the best possible outcome throughout the build.
The Cornerstone workforce undertook upskilling to complete this vital work. Three on-site training days took place to help guarantee that the on-site team were fully conversant in installing the system using best practise.
This project is ongoing, and the remaining phases are continuing to be worked on with expected completion in mid-2022.
