PROMESH

Render and Plaster Reinforcing Mesh

ProMesh reinforcing mesh is ideal for reinforcing plaster or render, particularly around openings or areas of traditional weakness. All ProMesh grades have a pressed weave and alkaline resistant coating ensuring that they perform to the highest standard. ProMesh can be used to stabilise unstable surfaces and cover and help prevent cracking. It is a flexible lattice made from tightly woven glass fibre strands that offer remarkable strength when embedded into wet basecoat plaster or render.

Features and benefits

  • Lightweight
  • Versatility – compatible with all popular plasters and renders
  • Pressed weave ensures  mesh cannot be pulled apart
  • Economical – low-cost material with little or no waste
  • Durable – tear resistance exceeds DIN 53857
  • Easy to use – cut to size with a knife or scissors
  • Safe – no sharp edges, so no protective clothing is required
  • Maintenance-free – tear and alkali resistant with anti-slip properties

BS EN 13914-1:2005Design, preparation and application of external rendering and internal plastering should be followed at all times.
Site WorkScaffolding must be independently tied, to allow uninterrupted application. Any faults in the structure, particularly those which may lead to moisture penetration, must be rectified.
Site ConditionsTemperature range, 5 - 30 degrees centigrade. ProMesh must not be applied to renders over frozen or thawing substrates.
SubstrateProMesh can be applied to all building substrates.
PreparationThe background has to be supporting and free from dust, loose particles, damp and other pollution which can be of disadvantage to the application. Protect fresh render/plaster applications against weather influences.
ApplicationEmbed ProMesh into fresh/wet render or plaster
Curing / DryingN/A
Health & SafetyRefer to material safety data sheet for full details of safety measures.
  1. Elevations must be fully covered with ProMesh
  2. Mesh must overlap by a minimum of 100mm
  3. 300mm x 300mm squares of mesh at 45O° to corners of all openings
