PROREND MASONRY PAINTS overview

The ProRend EIFS rail system offers high thermal efficiency and a durable, long lasting finish. Combining expanded polystyrene and mineral fibre insulation with a grid style rail construction, ProRend EIFS rail system can provide a breathable ventilated cavity ideally suited to timber and steel frame construction. ProRend EIFS insulated render system also offers the perfect solution for uneven and troublesome substrates that cannot receive renders directly.

The Self-Cleaning Effect

ProRend Self-Clean Masonry Paint utilises ultra hydrophobic nanotechnology. A technology based on some of nature’s finest phenomena, it was first discovered in the 1960s when the self-cleaning properties of certain plants and insects were studied. The silicone masonry paint creates a microscopic textured surface with a contact angle of 140°, resulting in a hydrophobic surface that causes water to bead up into pearls of water that run across the surface of the facade. As these beads of water run over the surface of the render, they collect any dirt and contaminates lying on the surface of the render and remove them, cleaning the facade as it rains.
